About the Orange Aquatic Centre
A purpose built facility completed in 2012, the Aquatic Centre boasts many features including heated indoor and outdoor pools and diving facilities, as well as beach volleyball and basketball courts and a kiosk and Café area.
Open all year round, with aqua aerobics, water polo and a large swim school on site, the Orange Aquatic Centre is a fantastic facility which stands out as an excellent environment to learn and enjoy one of life’s most important skills.
We have a diverse LTS program and can accommodate school hours, weekend and/or after schoolwork hours.
Jobs/Responsibilities
As a Learn to Swim Instructor with the Aquatic Centre you will be responsible for professionally planning and delivering high quality swimming lessons in a safe, fun and effective manner. This includes the ability to:
- Plan and execute appropriate learn to swim lessons which work within the structure of the program timetable and can be delivered according to established lessons plans
- Organise, set-up and pack up equipment needed for lessons, ensuring it is used appropriately and advise Aquatic Programs Co-ordinator or Aquatic Centre Co-ordinator of any faulty equipment
- Manage the behaviour of learn to swim students, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants in classes at all times
Skills/Experience
To be successful for this position, you will need:
- Current Teacher of Water Safety accreditation (Royal Lifesaving NSW or AUSTSWIM)
- Experience in the planning and delivery of a range of learn to swim programs
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) including the ability to interact with the general public and communicate effectively with a variety students
- Current Provide CPR certificate
To be successful in this role you will need a satisfactory criminal background check and Working With Children Check (please ensure that your current Working With Children Check number is listed on your resume).
