The role & you
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive individual to join our team as a Building Asset Officer. In this role, you will play a critical part in the coordination and management of building asset data, including overseeing condition assessments, valuations, and useful life evaluations. You will also work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the ongoing management of building assets aligns with the needs of the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate asset condition assessments, valuations, and useful life evaluations to ensure up-to-date asset data.
- Work with the community and internal teams to address user needs for community buildings, sporting, and administration spaces.
- Oversee planned maintenance, asset compliance inspections, and resolve any defects.
- Contribute to the preparation of the Building Asset Management Plan (AMP).
- Monitor building operational budgets and approve work orders.
- Manage insurance matters related to building assets.
- Advise the Trades team on asset management needs.
- Recommend projects for the Building Capital Works Program based on data and user feedback.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and experience managing building asset data, preferably within a local government setting. You should be familiar with asset management systems and conducting building condition assessments. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, along with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and stay organised in a dynamic work environment.
Salary: Commencing salary package range circa $72,500 p.a. - $79,800 p.a. plus superannuation. (Dependent on skills and experience.)
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
