The Role
The Asset Planner open Space will Support the Rolling Capital Works Program through the investigation, strategic planning, prioritisation, design, construction and maintenance of related assets. The opportunity will see you work as part of a multi disciplinary team focussed on the acquisition and disposal of Council assets

 

*This opportunity will be offered on a permanent full-time basis.
 

Duties will include, but are not be limited to:

  • Carry out site investigations and prepare preliminary designs and reports in line with investigation
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Council's Delivery Program, Operational Plan and the Unit Plan
  • Assist in the procurement process for projects, including participating in assessment panel and as subject matter expert 
  • Review and approve draft and preliminary construction drawings provided by the Works & Projects Unit ensuring the scope and budgets are met and compliance with relevant standards 
  • Prepare and maintain relevant policies, guidelines and standard drawings for related asset categories and provide expert advice to the community, staff and Council. 
  • Prepare grant applications and ensure compliance with reporting obligations to external authorities 
  • Investigate and provide advice regarding acquisition and disposal of Council assets as required Contribute to the development of asset prioritisation modelling, updating of Asset Management Plans and cyclic condition assessment of related assets 
  • Investigate and respond to customer requests as allocated and where applicable make recommendations to include in the Rolling Capital Works Programs or request maintenance works as necessary

You will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Arboriculture, Horticulture, Parks Management or a similar field
  • Class C Drivers' License
  • WH&S Construction White Card.
  • Experience in investigation, strategic planning, prioritisation, design, construction and maintenance of related assets
  • Understanding of asset management principles]
  • Project management skills 
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office and GIS applications 
  • Experience in the preparation of project briefs, budgets, construction plans, specifications, BoQs and contracts 
  • Knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations, Legislation, Guidelines, Codes and Council Policies.

 

The salary range for this opportunity commences at $90,858 (Grade G, Step 1) + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
