Description

We are seeking an Assets Accountant to join our Finance Team and coordinate the financial general fund asset registers. This position covers a broad range of assets, including transport infrastructure, stormwater drainage, buildings, public art, recreational facilities, swimming pools, software, fleet, and more. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration and enhancement of asset management and work systems (MyData and Technology One EAM). You will also provide expert advice and support in the development and review of Council’s asset management policies, strategies, and plans. Additionally, you will contribute to budget development for asset management, ensuring alignment with the Long-Term Financial Plan and other strategic planning documents. 

About the role:

  • Coordinate the financial general fund asset registers across a wide range of assets.
  • Process asset related transactions in the general ledger including acquisitions, renewals and disposals.
  • Administer and co-ordinate implementation and upgrades of asset management/work systems (MyData and Technology One EAM).
  • Provide support for finance and service planning related corporate software solutions.

We are seeking:

  • Degree level qualifications in Business, Accounting or Commerce or relevant experience in accounting and asset administration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Technology One Financials or similar financial software.
  • High level competence and experience in the application of asset accounting principles and recording.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.

Where it's located:

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
