As an Assistant Curator you will have the opportunity to support and grow a vibrant and diverse regional cultural
environment for the Dubbo LGA. This unique opportunity offers a diverse mix of programmes, exhibitions and projects, both visual and heritage based. Allowing for the development and application of a broad skill set, no two days are the same. Build community engagement through a responsive approach to community expectations. Your passion for Cultural development, coupled with exceptional organisational skills, drive and initiative will see you succeed in you career in the cultural sector.

You'll find growth through:

  • Assisting the development and presentation of
    programs in support of the Dubbo Regional Council Cultural Plan

  • Assist
    with the development and creation of special marketing and audience development
    programs

  • Develop
    and curate exhibitions that are relevant to the needs of residents and visitors

  • Develop
    and manage positive working relationships with community and sector
    stakeholders

What you'll bring

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Diploma
    in arts / history / visual arts / museum studies or related discipline

  • Thorough
    understanding of computer applications (word, excel, Internet).

  • Proven
    time management skills and the ability to prioritise a large body of work and a
    variety of activities in a high-pressure environment.
  • Knowledge and application of Australian art and/or
    history in the public museum context.
  • Good
    communication skills, both written and spoken, with proven ability to write
    correspondence and reports and communicate effectively with stakeholders both
    internally and externally.

We would also love you to have:

  • Sound people skills and capacity to supervise and monitor
    staff / volunteers.

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $78,184 to $90,862.
