Council is seeking applications from enthusiastic and motivated individuals for the following position.
AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN (Permanent)
The role of the Automation Technician is to be responsible for the development and promotion of electrical and electronic expertise in the enhancement and maintenance of electrical and associated process control equipment primarily in the Utilities Directorate of Council.
Qualifications: The successful applicant will require to hold the following qualifications:
- Hold a Qualified Supervisors Certificate – Electrician
- Hold a current Class C diver license
- Demonstrated knowledge in SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) control software (maintenance and development)
- Hold a General Construction Induction Training certificate (GIT or White Card)
- Relevant working experience on automated electrical (industrial) equipment

Licenced electricians who may not meet relevant knowledge and experience qualifications are encouraged to apply.
Hours of work: 38 hours per week.
Salary and conditions: Annual salary range $101,456.41 to $111,603.48 (Grade 17).
Training Pathway: Council may also consider licenced electricians who may not meet all the selection criteria but are interested in gaining skills and qualifications in automation and control systems via a training pathway.
