The Opportunity
The Bicentenary Program Coordinator is a project-based position responsible for driving the City of Perth’s planning for events in 2029 to mark 200 years since the formation of the Swan River Colony. This position will work collaboratively with City teams as well as a broad range of external stakeholders and community groups to ensure the successful planning and development of the 2029 program within agreed scope, timeline and budget. The Bicentenary Program Coordinator will operate with a high degree of autonomy in identifying opportunities, coordinating stakeholder engagement and working with contributing organisations and communities to ensure alignment with the City’s vision for 2029.
Reporting to the Alliance Manager within our Arts and Culture team, your responsibilities would primarily include:
- Work with internal and external stakeholders on the planning and development of the City’s Bicentenary program of projects, activities and events. Work with project leads, event organisers, research and creative teams to build an inclusive program aligned to Western Australia’s Bicentenary objectives and themes;
- Create and deliver a stakeholder and community consultation plan in conjunction with City teams and relevant external parties to inform planning and program development;
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders, special interest groups, community organisations, State and Local Government representatives, sponsors and contractors to deliver on program outcomes; and
- Develop project plans and schedules, manage project teams and stakeholders, delegate and monitor tasks, and ensure collaboration and communication amongst team members.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
- Excellent project management skills with demonstrated experience managing complex projects related to community programming, heritage, arts and culture programs and events or related experience;
- Exceptional communication skills, including ability to lead engagement and consultation, communicate detailed information to a range of stakeholders, provide written and verbal reports and presentations;
- Ability to establish strong working relationships, collaborate, influence and integrate ideas and information to develop and deliver outcomes that represent a shared vision; and
- Strong attention to detail, with an ability to work across multi-functional teams and, manage multiple responsibilities and tasks simultaneously and ensure follow-through on a variety of actions.

Eligibility
To be eligible to work for us, you will need to demonstrate:
