About the position:

The City has an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to join our Property Services branch as a Building Maintenance Planner.

The Building Maintenance Planner is responsible for the implementation and management of maintenance programs, asset management strategies and reactive and preventative maintenance scheduling of City building assets. The Building Maintenance Planner oversees contractors and the internal building maintenance team, ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of proficiency.

Key accountabilities: 

  • Coordinate and prioritise specific building activities including the planning the scheduling of maintenance and repairs, installation programs, and projects.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered within budgetary constraints, maintaining records, monitoring expenditure and costing jobs.
  • Champion safety by ensuring staff and contractors are accountable to the highest standards pursuant to the City’s safe work procedures, WH&S policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of renewal programs and capital nominations for City building assets.
  • Provide operational leadership, professional advice, guidance, training and support to the Building Maintenance team and be the first point of contact for daily operational matters.

Position requirements:

The City is looking for a passionate candidate who holds industry experience in maintenance planning. Additionally, the successful candidate will have comprehensive experience in leading a team, positively engaging with contractors, and demonstrates highly developed interpersonal skills with ability to consult, negotiate and resolve issues.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary ranging from $89,955 per annum will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
