The Role

Reporting to the Facility Operations Works Supervisor, the purpose of this position is to fulfill allocated Carpentry trade technical work orders in a safe, efficient and professional manner along with supervising external contractors to ensure the quality and standard of work being delivered is to the required level.

About You

You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the building/construction industry and have experience supervising and motivating employees in a similar role. You will be conscientious and reliable with a demonstrated history of delivering to deadlines whilst operating under minimal supervision. You will be safety focused with strong awareness of Workplace Health and Safety procedures and consistently demonstrate your advocacy for safe working practices.

Essential Criteria

  • Trade Certificate in Carpentry or similar
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the building/construction industry
  • Experience working with power tools
  • Experience in estimating building works and knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and associated regulations
  • Experience and qualified to carry out Hazardous Materials Inspections and able to complete statutory reports for asbestos remediation
  • Ability to read plans and specifications
  • Ability to assess the maintenance requirements and execute the necessary works associated with building maintenance and construction work
  • Customer Service experience
  • Computer skills using database, word processing, spreadsheets, systems for buildings
  • Two-way radio skills
  • Physically fit to suit requirements of position
  • The right to live and work in Australia
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • WHS General Construction Work in NSW
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Successful applicants will be required to undergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
