Business Support Officer - Development Services 

  • Conveniently located in Picton, on the south western outskirts of Sydney at the foothills of the Southern Highlands.
  • Permanent Full Time Position
  • Salary from $1,470.10 per week + 11.5% Superannuation

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Council's Development Services team which presents the opportunity for an  experienced administrator who is keen to join a collaborative and robust team. This opportunity will also suit a student planner or building surveyor looking to gain valuable hands on experience.

About the Role

Reporting to the Business Support Team Leader,  you will provide professional administration business support across the Development Services section. Working with a team of professional Development Assessment Planners and Building Surveyors you will be provided the opportunity to enhance your skills and experience. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

  • Certificate III Qualifications in Business Administration or extensive relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 2 year’s demonstrated experience in a business support type role with superior organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • High level of expertise in Microsoft Office applications and a sound understanding of computer network and email systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing timely, accurate and professional customer service to internal and external customers in often unusual or complex situations.
  • Demonstrated time-management ability to show initiative and innovation when investigating, analysing & solving problems.
  • High level of written and verbal communication and engagement skills to accurately convey Council’s policies, procedures and Government legislation.
