Are you currently enrolled in tertiary studies (university level) in Civil or Environmental Engineering or another related course?

As our new Cadet Development Engineer, you will support the Asset and Engineering Manager by reviewing and providing comments on engineering plans submitted by developers at various stages (e.g., concept and detailed design). You will also conduct investigations, surveys, and designs, supervise subdivision construction works, and carry out Roads Act approvals and inspections.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Team Player - Works closely with planners, design engineer, building inspectors, overseers to get an opportunity to learn from a range of development professionals.
  • Design – Carry out Investigation, survey and design and prepare drawings for engineering works
  • Interaction - Respond to customer enquiries and provide a good level of customer service
  • Growth - Gain knowledge of Council’s engineering and works functions including policies and procedures.

What You’ll Need:

  • A valid Australian Driver’s Licence.
  • Studying a degree in Civil or environmental engineering leading to graduate membership of Engineers Australia.
  • A willingness to learn

This is a temporary position classified at T8 under the Local Government (State) Award 2023. The salary for this position commences at $56,789.20 plus 11.5% statutory superannuation (pro rata).
