The Role
This is one of four exciting Cadetship opportunities available at Hawkesbury Council in 2025. The Cadet – Environmental Health will support Council to effectively manage environmental health matters regarding pollution control and public health, with the objective to improve the quality of lifestyle and environment within our region.
About You
You will currently be studying a Bachelor of Science - Environmental Health and will demonstrate enthusiasm and willingness to gain hands on experience in Environmental Health. You will be proactive in your approach to learning and be willing to commit to a 12-month training plan with regular milestones needing to be achieved. You will be open and responsive to feedback and be able to demonstrate your interest in supporting Hawkesbury Council’s purpose ‘To build a Hawkesbury that is loved by its people’.
Essential Criteria
- Must be currently undertaking Bachelor of Science - Environmental Health, year 2 already completed
- Available to start February 17, 2025
- Available to commit to 3-4 days per week
- Ability to apply technical knowledge to support the branch with solving complex problems
- Basic knowledge of relevant Environmental Health Acts / Legislation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills and experience
- Time management and professionalism
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
