The Role

This is one of four exciting Cadetship opportunities available at Hawkesbury Council in 2025, in this role the Cadet will support Hawkesbury Council’s Development Assessment team to effectively process development and associated applications submitted to Council under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Local Government Act 1993 and related legislation.

About You

You will currently be studying a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning and will have already completed your 2nd year. You will be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as your commitment to customer service. You will be proactive in your approach to learning and be willing to commit to a 12-month training plan with regular milestones needing to be achieved. You will be open and responsive to feedback and be able to demonstrate your interest in supporting Hawkesbury Council’s purpose ‘To build a Hawkesbury that is loved by its people’.

Essential Criteria

  • Must be currently undertaking Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning, year 2 already completed
  • Available to start February 17, 2025
  • Available to commit to 3-4 days per week
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills and experience
  • Time management and professionalism
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Class C Drivers Licence
