  • Provide Finance Business Partner support for capital projects

About the role
This permanent full-time position works 35 hours per week, nominally 9.00am to 5.00pm from Councils Administration building in Nowra. Reporting to the Manager – Budgeting and Analysis, the role provides financial business partner support to Council’s enterprise Project Management Office.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

Duties
Reporting directly to the Manager – Budgeting and Analysis, the focus of this position is to:

  • Provide a finance business partner support monitoring and reporting of capital projects
  • Provide analysis and advice to support the budget development process
  • Support project owners case development and cost modelling for capital projects
  • Deliver monthly income recognition and salary capitalisation for capital projects
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and presenting information for audit
  • Identification of business improvement opportunities and ability to manage that change

Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • Accounting Degree
  • CPA or CA qualified or studying towards
  • Demonstrated experience as a project accountant in a large diverse organisation
  • Advanced problem solving skills, and proactive approach to process improvement
  • Strong budgeting, reporting and financial modelling skills
