About the role

The role of Carpenter is responsible for the construction and repair of building structures and frame works within the facilities management team in order to effectively and efficiently deliver the maintenance requirements to all Council assets.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include: 

  • completing routine maintenance and repair works on Council’s assets within agreed budget and timelines
  • plan and coordinate materials and resources to ensure work completed meets quality and timely outcomes
  • ensure that emergency repairs that may impact on public safety are carried out quickly and efficiently.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • valid Construction General Induction card (White Card)
  • Certificate III qualification in Carpentry and Joinery or related field
  • Class C Driver’s Licence.

Successful candidates may be required to undertake a course of vaccinations against Hepatitis A and B and Tetanus or demonstrate their immunity.

About you:

 

  • You have a strong focus on safety and a sound knowledge of building maintenance and construction principles, codes, practices and standards
  • You have excellent communication skills
  • You have demonstrated experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, structural drawings and specifications 
  • You demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, reliability and take great pride in your work

Other important information

  • The salary range for this position ranges between $63.6K to $76.3K per annum + superannuation (dependent on skills and experience) plus 11.5% superannuation  
  • We are offering a permanent full-time role
  • This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
  • A Tool of Trade vehicle with home overnight garaging is available
  • This role is primarily based out of the Erina Works Depot

Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
