About the role
This role places you in the heart of the decision-making process of the City of Sydney, working within the office of Greens Councillor Matthew Thompson. The role works in a fast-paced political environment and is responsible for ensuring that the administration processes are adhered to within the office.
We are looking for someone who:
plans, prioritises and escalates tasks effectivelyhas highly developed written and verbal communication skillscan provide excellent diary management, and day to day organisation.has a sound working knowledge of Outlook and Wordhas experience and/or strong interest and commitment to environmental sustainability, human rights and social justice issues, and working with communities.
About Matthew
Matthew is a queer activist, community services worker and a budding ecologist. He is one of two Greens Councillors on the City of Sydney, alongside Councillor Sylvie Ellsmore. He is particularly passionate about pushing the City forward on climate justice and environmental sustainability, fighting for the rights of the queer and gender diverse community, and utilising his experiences of poverty to ensure everyone has what they need to live a good life.
