About the role
This exciting leadership role provides strategic oversight for a fleet of over 400 vehicles and specialised plant, driving innovation to enhance efficiency, improve service delivery, and ensure effective whole-of-life asset management delivers a reliable and safe fleet.
The role encompasses all aspects of fleet management, including financial and contract management, with a strong emphasis on the end-to-end delivery of fleet procurement projects, technology integration, and environmental sustainability. A key responsibility is leading the development of fleet renewal plans and ensuring new vehicle specifications deliver measurable benefits to City operations.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience managing large-scale fleets and a deep understanding of fleet maintenance programs. A current motor vehicle trade qualification is highly regarded along with demonstrated experience developing preventive maintenance programs that ensure compliance with NHVR requirements within an asset management system. This role requires a collaborative mindset, emphasising teamwork and knowledge sharing within the team and across internal departments to drive improved outcomes for the City.
The ideal candidate will be a leader in fostering positive working relationships, understanding diverse perspectives, and effectively navigating challenges to build a culture of trust, respect, and shared success.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
