Civil Design Engineer

1x Permanent Full Time - 35 hours, 5 days per week
Salary: $93,264.16 - $102,193.67 + 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance +Super

ABOUT THE ROLE

Liverpool City Council (Council) has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Civil Design Engineer to join our Civil Engineering Design and Survey team. The purpose of the position is to provide professional, timely and high-quality civil engineering design services, to enable and support the delivery of infrastructure across the Liverpool LGA.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Undertaking engineering related investigations, to inform planning and design decisions.
  • Preparing concept and detailed design packages and other relevant documentation, for civil engineering projects including (but not limited to) new / improvements to; roads, streets, laneways, traffic facilities, drainage, and at-grade carparks.
  • Developing and maintaining technical standards and guidelines, relevant to civil engineering.
  • Providing technical civil engineering advice and input into projects being completed by other teams within Council, the NSW Government and/or other organisations.
  • Providing technical support to teams managing the delivery of projects designed by the Civil Engineering Design and Survey team.
  • Liasing with relevant internal / external stakeholders and the community, as required.
  • Assisting with the preparation of grant funding applications, as required.

ABOUT YOU
The successful applicant will have:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualifications or extensive demonstrated experience in similar field.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of civil engineering design, drafting and documentation for; roads, kerb and gutter, retaining walls, carparks, shared paths, drainage, traffic facilities, roundabouts and other civil engineering infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of 12D and AutoCAD software, for the preparation of civil design drawings.
  • Demonstrated experience in complying with a quality management system for civil engineering designs.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of detailed cost estimates.
  • Experience in preparing Safety in Design reports.
  • Attention to detail and a desire to deliver work to a high standard.
  • Knowledge of Work Health and Safety practices, the principles of Equal Employment Opportunities, ethical practice and multi-cultural diversity.
  • Class C Drivers Licence
