  • $90,000 - $112,000 p.a. plus super
  • 5 Weeks Annual Leave

The Position
The Civil Designer will work collaboratively with the Asset Engineering team to efficiently use contemporary civil engineering design technology and techniques to develop fit-for-purpose designs that facilitate ongoing and improved service delivery to the community.
As a valued member of the Asset Engineering team the Civil Designer will use their knowledge, skills and experience to produce designs which are readily constructible, are cost effective and fit-for-purpose.

 

About You
You have an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or significant experience in a similar field. You have demonstrated practical experience in the planning and design of civil infrastructure and proficiency in the preparation of engineering design plans and the integration of other elements of the built environment using computer aided design methods including AutoCAD, 12d, Civil 3D software. You can prepare cost estimates and interpret Client needs through design briefs and verbal communication and able to work autonomously.
Additionally, you can read survey plans and interpret survey field data and problem solve technical engineering issues and develop effective, practical and value for money solutions. • Designs are produced efficiently, utilising the appropriate level of technology and leveraged on Council’s proven design and construction knowledge and techniques
• Designs are developed with a view to constructability, construction risk mitigation and long-term asset sustainability at their core
• Council’s design team and supporting consultants implement the appropriate safety and quality standards for design works
