About the role

Woollahra Council is seeking to employ a full time Operational Worker to join our growing Civil Works Team based at the Fletcher Street depot in Woollahra, minutes from Bondi Junction Train Station. 

Reporting to the Civil Works Team Leader, you will work collaboratively with an enthusiastic and close-knit team. You will carry out various labouring duties and civil maintenance tasks associated with civil infrastructure maintenance and construction (such as asphalting, drainage and concreting works) in order to maintain the civil infrastructure throughout the Woollahra Local Government Area.

About you

We are looking to engage a person that is hardworking and, with a proven ability to multi-task. You will be able to work both autonomously and as part of a dynamic team to meet deadline. You will be a high achiever with:

  • Current MR Driver’s Licence.
  • Workcover WH&S General Induction for Construction Work in NSW (Whitecard).
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in a range of civil maintenance duties (e.g. concreting, paving, asphalting etc.)
  • Proven ability to carry out work in accordance with established policies and procedures, as directed to the required standards in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Understanding of and commitment to WHS and EEO principles and relevant legislation.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with the public in high profile areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Commitment to a culture of continuous improvement.
