You will be responsible to investigate, assess, plan, design and maintain coastal infrastructure (e.g. boat ramps, jetties, sea walls etc.).  Provide high level technical advice and support in relation to marine infrastructure and coastal engineering. You will ensure that Council’s coastal facilities are maintained in a manner which protects the community and coastal assets while promoting the City “where the coast comes to life”.

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:

  1. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  2. Highly developed negotiation and interpersonal skills
  3. Highly developed customer service and decision making skills
  4. Highly developed project management skills
  5. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of coastal engineering, coastal processes, coastal management, marine infrastructure maintenance, statutory approval processes and regulations
  6. Comprehensive knowledge of tender procedures, processes and regulations
  7. Comprehensive knowledge of WHS procedures/regulations and risk management principles
  8. Extensive experience in formulating, designing and implementing coastal engineering investigations and works
  9. Substantial experience in management of coastal areas
  10. Demonstrated contract administration skills
  11. Experience in the preparation of tenders scopes and request for quote documentation and technical specifications
  12. Substantial experience in project management
  13. Degree in Civil/Coastal Engineering or equivalent
  14. Current ‘C’ class Australian driver’s licence

This position offers a gross salary from $103,919 to $110,654 per annum (depending on knowledge and skill) incorporating all allowances and penalty rates, and:

  • 11.5% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5%
