Salary: $2,893 to $3,243 per fortnight (based on 35 hours per week), plus superannuation and a 9 day fortnight
Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience.

An exciting opportunity exists within our Community Learning and Programs Team for a Librarian Temporary Full Time - up to 13 months maternity cover.
We are seeking to engage an enthusiastic customer-oriented person to plan, promote and deliver library programs and events including author talks, community education seminars and maker space activities.

About the role
In your role, you will be part of a customer-focused team that supports library and information services to the Hornsby Shire community through the delivery of efficient and effective activities and programs, in addition to the provision of efficient and effective information and circulation services.
The Community and Programs Librarian position has the following major components:
* Planning and effective delivery of inclusive services and programs
* Marketing and promotion of library programs and services
* Customer and Information services
* Maintenance of collection and facilities
* Operational supervision
* Staff and customer training
About you
The Community and Programs Librarian position requires a passionate and enthusiastic individual who actively engages in professional development to keep up to date with trends in library programming relevant to the local community. The ability to manage concurrent tasks, to establish priorities and to work independently on a task to completion is critical to the success of this role, as is the flexibility to adapt to a wide range of duties as required.

The Community and Programs Librarian is primarily based at Hornsby Library and may be required to work at other library branches. This role will also require evening and weekend work.
An Australian Library and Information Association accredited library and information science qualification at undergraduate or postgraduate level is required for this role, as is a Working With Children Check.
