About the opportunity

We are excited to share a permanent, full-time opportunity for an experienced candidate to join our fast-paced Community Law Enforcement and Waste section.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing a range of services and controls as required by governing legislation.

The duties of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Providing a wide range of services and controls in accordance with governing legislation
  • Executing Council’s regulatory functions for various Acts within your authority
  • Detecting and addressing any breaches as necessary, ensuring alignment with our commitment
  • Regulatory enforcement including, but not limited to:
    • Illegal Dumping
    • Abandoned Vehicles
    • Heavy Vehicle Enforcement
    • Other legislative enforcement matters.

To succeed in this role, you will need strong customer service.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Relevant Local Government experience in a similar capacity
  • Provision of a wide range of skills applicable to the position
  • Current class C driver's licence
  • Clearance of National Police Check.

Desirable:

  • Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services)
  • Knowledge of relevant issues and applicable legislation/regulations
  • Computer literate with proficiency in the use of Microsoft products such as Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule and coordinate own work activities
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,361.20 per week
  • 38-hour working week
  • Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
  • Leaseback vehicle
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
