Are you ready to kick-start your career in Compliance and Food Inspection? Under the guidance of experienced and supportive team, you will play a crucial role with assisting in Council's Compliance and Food Inspection processes. This two-year traineeship will provide you with the opportunity to gain a Certificate IV in Local Government or Authorised Officer (Food Surveillance) whilst gaining hands-on experience.
Supporting the team across Compliance and Food Inspection you will have the chance to:
- Respond to telephone, email and counter enquiries, complaints and requests for information.
- Attend site inspections in the company of other staff.
- Document food inspections, issue of food inspection invoices & management of food inspection statistics

ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Be eligible and willing to undertake the units in the Certificate IV in Local Government or Authorised Officer (Food Surveillance) Training Course or equivalent;
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise tact and diplomacy to achieve organisational objectives;
- Highly Developed communication and Interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated ability in basic photography.

The Liverpool Plains Shire Council is a diverse organisation employing over 120 staff across a wide variety of fields who deliver a range of services to the local government area encompassing Blackville, Caroona, Currabubula, Pine Ridge, Premer, Quirindi, Spring Ridge, Wallabadah, Werris Creek and Willow Tree and the almost 8000 residents who reside there.
The council is situated in Quirindi, the heart of the Liverpool Plains, 65km from Tamworth and about four hours North West of Sydney, famous for its stunning landscapes and rich, highly productive land and is the perfect place to call home.
