We’re looking for a passionate Cook to join our friendly team and whip up delicious, nutritious meals that keep our children smiling and healthy.

What We Offer
- Temporary Contract, Fulltime Role - 70 hours per fortnight (6 Month contract from Monday 28 April 2025)
- Salary range from $60,079.84 - $69,609.92 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation
- 8am - 3.30pm (Monday to Friday)

Key Duties
- Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals for children aged birth to five, that meet the dietary needs and preferences of the children, including any allergies or special dietary requirements, following the Munch and Move guidelines
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, ensuring all food is stored, handled, and prepared according to Food Standards Australia and health and safety regulations
- Create and update menus regularly, incorporating a variety of foods to provide balanced nutrition, and cultural inclusion
- Order and purchase food and kitchen supplies within budget, and keep an inventory of kitchen equipment and supplies
- Work closely with staff to coordinate meal times and ensure that meals are served appropriately
- Maintain logs for compliance, cleaning duties, food purchases, and any other necessary records to ensure compliance with health codes and regulations
- Identify potential hazards and take prompt action to keep the kitchen safe
- Catering for a licenced early learning centre depending on location: Jack High - 79 place service in Beverly Hills
- Other duties as reasonably required that are within the limits of skills, competence and training
What We Are Looking For
- Certificate of Safe Food Handling
- Preferred certificate Food Safety Supervisor (FSS)
- Current Working with Children Check with at least six months until expiry
- Certificate CHCPRT001 – Identify and respond to children and young people at risk
- Preferred First Aid and CPR certificate
- Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate health and hygiene practices
- Demonstrates understanding of children’s’ varying cultural/language backgrounds and those with additional needs
- Proven ability to show flexibility in approach to meet the requirements of the children and families
- Demonstrates ability to forecast and work with an allocated budget
- Willingness to participate in meetings and undertake professional training when required
- Effective communication and interactive skills with children and adults
Desirable
- Experience in cooking for large groups
- Knowledge of other languages
- Experience working in an early childhood setting with children aged birth to five years. Demonstrated experience in assisting in the planning. implementation and evaluation of Centre programmes
