About the Role
This is a permanent, full time position working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at the Nowra Administration Building. Leading a small team, this role is responsible to coordinate the capture, validation and analysis of asset information for Council's place-based assets to support informed decision making about these assets. coordinate the capture, validation and analysis of asset information for Council's place-based assets to support informed decision making about these assets.

The Asset Strategy team is a recently formed section within the Technical Services department with a targeted focus to improve Council's knowledge of all assets under its control. The team is responsible for establishing and/or improving processes to ensure the availability, reliability, completeness and quality information relating to whole lifecycle of infrastructure assets. This position will directly contribute to current and future successes of this section to the benefit of the whole organisation and the wider community.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

Reporting directly to the Asset Strategy Manager, the focus of this position is to:

  • Coordinate the capture, updating, validation and analysis of asset information from multiple sources (including inventory data, location and condition) relating to Council's place-based assets, i.e. Buildings, Parks & Reserves and related assets within and surrounding sites.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the Council to source asset information and coordinate activities of the team in processing this information.
  • Coordinate asset financial activities, such as capitalisation and disposal.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of thorough and complete documentation on Council's Asset Management System, asset registers, compilation of data, unit rate & useful life calculations, and other appropriate data.
  • Work within OneCouncil, TRIM, ESRI ArcGIS other Council systems, to provide network asset information, to assist with the development and review of relevant processes or practices.
  • Provide support within the Asset Strategy Team to ensure information is fit-for-purpose for the creation of strategic documents, such as Asset Management Plans

About You

To be successful in the position, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications (Diploma or above) in Facilities Management, Horticulture, Building or Landscape Architecture and/or extensive experience in the management, construction and maintenance of buildings and facilities.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to use various software and applications, including spreadsheets, asset databases, maintenance management systems and accurate word processing.
  • Experience in developing an Operations Plans for Building Facilities and/or Open Space Management activities.
  • Demonstrated success in guiding and coaching others, promoting continuous learning and managing the diverse operations of a work group to ensure the provision of timely and quality outputs
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence.
