The Role
A rewarding opportunity has presented itself for a dedicated and driven leader to join our city Assets department as Coordinator Roads Operations.
In this role you will develop and implement strategies and initiatives that achieve efficient and cost-effective operations, ensure compliance with WHS and environmental regulations, and respond to Council’s current and future maintenance and project needs whilst providing leadership to a multi skilled team
*This opportunity will be offered on a permanent full-time basis.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Lead a multi skilled team and providing advice, analysing works, providing guidance and direction where required
- Respond to customer requests with accurate information in a timely manner
- Set targets and objectives for operations teams and monitor output and providing monthly reporting of the Unit's performance to the Manager, Roads Operations
- Review tenders, and post award, administer contracts involving consultants, period contracts for works and services and minor projects
- Use of maintenance systems for CB City's assets and prepare and implement programmed and reactive works for the unit's teams and contractors
- Prioritise maintenance activities relevant to asset management objectives.\
- Provide strategic and specialist technical advice in current maintenance works and for future planning of civil assets, including rehabilitation

You will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Civil preferred) and/or extensive job-related experience.
- Current Class C Drivers Licence.
- Minimum 5+ Years’ leadership experience in civil construction / maintenance environment
- Advanced subject matter knowledge (roads & infrastructure) and commercial awareness gained from relevant industry experience.
- Experience in asset management, contract management, probity, government procurement and preparing and managing budgets
- Experience in project management and supervising construction projects
- Experience coordinating with other government organisations relevant to local government.
- Experience in a customer service environment where stakeholder management is a high priority.
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $122,553 (Grade J Step 1) + Car Allowance + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience
