About Us:

Liverpool is one of the fastest growing, culturally diverse and dynamic Local Government Areas (LGA) in NSW. As the beating heart of South-West Sydney, the LGA will soon be home to over 300,000 residents, two Cities – Liverpool CBD and Bradfield – and Sydney’s newest international gateway, the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSIA).

About the Role:

Liverpool LGA comprises a diverse array of land uses from established suburbia in the east, to rapidly evolving rural and semi-rural growth precincts in the west, and a growing high-density metropolis within the Liverpool City Centre.

This dynamic and diverse portfolio presents the perfect opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic People Leader to oversee development of the Strategic Planning Team at a time of unprecedented growth and challenge.

In this role, you will be directly responsible for:

  • Providing direction, leadership and support to a dynamic and committed team that is working collectively to ensure new development is effectively complemented with the necessary infrastructure and services required to enable our vibrant communities to flourish well into the future;
  • Leading a team of 12 professionals responsible for the review, assessment and preparation of Planning Proposals that will positively shape the future of the Liverpool LGA;
  • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders within Council, NSW Government Agencies, industry and community representatives to ensure the strategic planning directives of Council are proactively embedded within new development opportunities;
  • Overseeing a strategic planning portfolio that covers a vast array of land use challenges – two city centres (Liverpool and Bradfield), established suburbs, growth precincts, rural villages, and a new Global Gateway, the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport – but with so much potential to influence;
  • Delivering expert support, guidance and advice to the Manager City Planning, the Council, Executive Leadership Team and other staff relating to developer contributions and innovative approaches to their administration in a timely and professional manner.

This is a great opportunity to take that next step in your planning career and join a team that is at the forefront of Strategic Planning in one of the most exciting and diverse regions in Sydney.
