The role
Are you a strategic leader passionate about shaping workforce culture and performance in local government?
Join us as the Coordinator Strategy and Performance, where your day-to-day will involve collaborating with diverse teams, driving cultural and workforce development, and ensuring effective implementation of key policies and initiatives within our Organisational Strategy and Performance Department.
In this key leadership role, you will:
- Develop and implement workforce strategies and policies that align with our organisational values and long-term vision, turning strategic objectives into actionable initiatives that enhance our workforce culture and performance.
- Drive cultural improvement and champion change across our diverse departments, fostering an engaged, high-performing workplace that is resilient and adaptable to our community's needs.
- Act as conduit between senior leadership and your team to ensure that work is aligned to organisational priorities and delivers upon our vision and mission.
- Leverage data analytics to inform decision-making, evaluate the impact of initiatives, and drive continuous improvement in workforce strategies and policies.
- Lead collaboratively, empowering your team to develop their skills, take ownership of their work, and deliver impactful results that reflect our commitment to service excellence.
- Ensure the ongoing development, implementation and facilitating reviews of Council’s strategic and operational plans
What you’ll bring:
- Qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organisational Development, or a related field.
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of guiding and developing professional teams.
- Expertise in cultural transformation and change management, with a focus on creating inclusive, resilient, and high-performing workplaces.
- Strong analytical skills to utilise data-driven insights for informing workforce and organisational strategies effectively.
- Experience leading large-scale workforce initiatives and managing complex projects.
- Expertise in policy development and strategy creation that supports effective governance, enhances operational efficiency, and meets the needs of the community.

Salary: Commencing salary circa $116,135 p.a. plus superannuation (negotiable based on skills and experience).
A vehicle arrangement will be made with the successful candidate for this role. Council will provide you with a leaseback vehicle for an annual fee calculated as 20% of the gross purchase price. This is a fully maintained vehicle for both business and full private use with no additional expenses in normal use.
Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
