About Us

Due to continued growth in our Environment & Sustainability division, we are excited to add a Coordinator Sustainability Strategy & Education to our highly skilled team to continue to make a true and meaningful impact on our community.

About the Role

As Coordinator Sustainability Strategy & Education you will coordinate and manage the operation of the Sustainability Strategy and Education team. You will lead this function in accordance with relevant acts, regulations and organisational policies and monitor its performance within the local government and organisational context.

You will be responsible for delivering environmental sustainability strategy support, community engagement and education relating to environmental sustainability in an urban and peri-urban setting, including waste and circular economy, management and care for the natural environment, biodiversity, climate change adaptation and mitigation, sustainable living and environmental resilience.

Working in a leadership capacity, the Coordinator Sustainability Strategy & Education will drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, and will thrive on the opportunity to mentor, coach, and develop the Sustainability Strategy & Education team.

About You

To be successful in this role you will possess degree qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Education or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education/training and contemporary experience in an environmental sustainability role.

You will have contemporary industry knowledge and proven experience in environmental sustainability management in an urban setting on at least one of the following: circular economy, waste avoidance, energy efficiency, water efficiency, renewable energy or sustainable transport.

In addition to excellent communication and highly developed interpersonal skills, you will have experience and the ability to lead, coach and support staff and build teams.

Benefits

This is a permanent full-time opportunity working 35 hours per week, with a base salary ranging from $126,816 - $140,766 per year based on demonstrated competencies + 11.5% p.a superannuation.
