Our Assets and Infrastructure directorate is responsible for leading, planning, delivering and managing the development in Georges River Council including delivering new infrastructure, services including responding to residential, commercial and industrial growth. Our departments consist of: City Operational Services, City Technical Services, Premium Facilities and Strategic Placemaking.
About the Opportunity
Georges River Council is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Coordinator Traffic and Transport who will be responsible for leading and delivering Council’s traffic and transport program. As the Coordinator Traffic and Transport you will provide strategic leadership to build a proactive service, delivering an efficient, safe and integrated transport environment in our Local Government Area. Additionally, as the Coordinator Traffic and Transport, you will be responsible for advocating for and seeking funding for active and sustainable transport opportunities for the Local Government Area.
- Permanent, Full-Time - 35 hours per week
- Salary from $123,891.39 - $143,546.89 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation dependent on skills and experience
- 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance
- Car Allowance
- 9-day fortnight, subject to operations requirements

What We're Looking for:
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil/Civil & Environmental Engineering.
- Current Class C Drivers Licence.
- Construction Induction (White Card)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in local government traffic and/or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience in administering the Council Traffic Advisory Committee.
- Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Councillors, Members of Parliament, state government department representatives and the community on traffic and transport issues.
- Experience in preparing high quality concept designs for civil infrastructure road works.
- Extensive knowledge of development application procedures and reporting.
- Understanding of traffic engineering modelling software, GIS (mapping) software, CAD software.
- Ability to provide advice on traffic and road safety issues pertaining to strategic plans and legal proceedings.
- Demonstrated experience in Australian Standards, RMS guidelines, Roads Act and other relevant traffic legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage resources and promote a team environment to achieve team, and broader business objectives.
- Demonstrated experience using Auto CAD.
