We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 380,000 residents.
The role
Manage all aspects relating to the day to day operations and forward planning programme of Domestic Waste, Recycling and Commercial Waste.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Manage and oversee daily operations and forward planning for Domestic Waste, Recycling, and Commercial Waste, ensuring competitiveness.
- Provide technical and operational advice to the Management System Coordinator and Business Manager.
- To ensure that the functions of the team meet agreed targets and deadlines and that the work is carried out within cost estimates and budget objectives.
- To respond to customers’ changing needs.
- To continually re-assess operational processes and procedures to achieve optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
- Initiate investigations on issues linked with business performance.
- To ensure plant and equipment is kept secure and maintained.

You will have:
- Class HR Licence.
- Proven track record in operational control within the transport sector.
- Expertise in preparing estimates for quotations/tenders and collecting relevant costing information.
- Skilled in investigating operational problems and preparing concise reports.
- Experienced in identifying and recommending new technology and equipment to enhance services.
- Ability to develop industry contacts and foster business opportunities.
- Adaptable and flexible in providing responsive services to meet client needs.
- Effective communicator with teams to establish common goals and improve customer relations.
- Competent in conducting business in a commercial and competitive manner.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to resolve disputes.
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $122,553 (Grade J, Step 1) + Car Allowance + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
