Your Position:
To contribute to the professional performance of
Burwood Council by being responsible for coordinating and managing the Waste
Collection (Domestic, Green and Trade) and Street Sweeping activities. Assisting the Manager in all contract management and
policy reviewing aspects in the Waste and Cleansing area.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:-
- Assist in preparation of cost estimates for
proposed work for budgetary purposes; - Provide guidance and advice
to staff on technical matters to enable work to carried out in cost-effective
and safe manner; -
Configure waste collection and street sweeping runs to achieve cost-effective, commercially competitive operations

Ensure staff are trained in the correct methods of manual handling and safe work practices

Communicate in a
professional manner with external customers, service providers and residents
when required;
To be successful in this role you will have:-
- Tertiary qualification in Waste Management, Contract Management and/or relevant discipline.
- Sound knowledge of devising cost-effective, commercially competitive solutions to operational
challenges - High level experience ·Demonstrated staff supervision and leadership skills

Highly developed time management and organisational skills
Key Requirements:
- COVID 19 vaccination for all employees (2 Vaccines)
- Willingness to complete a National Police History Check (where applicable)
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment health assessment (where applicable)
- Current C Class Driver's Licence
- White Card or the willingness to obtain
- Local Government working experience an advantage
