The City of Canterbury Bankstown is one of the largest Council’s in NSW with the most culturally, socially and economically diverse communities in Sydney. We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 380,000 residents.
The role
The Customer Experience and Support Officer will offer administrative and customer support for the City Assets Department, working closely with all teams. You'll help ensure smooth daily operations, delivering seamless service to both internal and external customers.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
Supporting our Customers:
- Provide quality administration and customer service, maintaining a positive council image.
- Handle administration takes and provide support to our customers from inquiry to resolution, ensuring timely follow-up.
- Address and resolve customer, Councillor, and Member of Parliament (MP) requests, coordinating investigations and correspondence.
Supporting our Business:
- Provide administrative tasks such as purchase orders, assessments, timesheets, and permit processing.
- Prepare correspondence and develop reports, including Council Reports.
- Collaborate on process improvement and technology initiatives.
Supporting Each Other:
- Share knowledge, raise concerns, and contribute to business improvement initiatives.
- Use technology to enhance service delivery.
- Stay updated on industry legislation and actively participate in team meetings.

You will have
- Relevant qualification in office administration or a minimum of 5 years' proven experience in an administrative support role
- A Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products (Dynamics, Word, Excel, and Windows programs).
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- The capability to work both independently and in a team.
- Skilled in correspondence writing.
Proficiency in iShare, Pathways, Dynamics, and SAP, along with knowledge of State, Federal, and Local Government roles, is not essential but highly desirable.
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $69,728 (Grade D, Step 1) + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
