The Role

Reporting to the Library Coordinator
and working across Windsor and Richmond Library locations, the purpose of this
position is to lead the library customer service team and be accountable for
the delivery of effective, efficient, and inclusive library and information
services that fulfill the strategic priorities of the Arts and Culture branch
and the needs of the Hawkesbury community.

About You

You will be positive and energetic with demonstrated experience building,
leading and motivating high performing, customer focused teams. This experience
will be coupled with a minimum of 3 years professional experience operating in
a similar role within a public library. You will be a creative and innovative
thinker with excellent organisation, time management and problem-solving
skills.

Essential Criteria

  • Degree qualification in Library and
    Information Services, or equivalent, recognised by Australian Library and
    Information Association (ALIA)
  • Minimum 3 year’s professional experience in a
    similar role in a public library
  • Experience in building and leading high
    performing teams
  • Experience with collection development in a
    public library
  • Experience and knowledge of contemporary
    library service issues and a sound working knowledge of governing legislation
    and frameworks
  • Experience in proposing innovative and
    creative and alternatives to improve library services
  • Strong ability to analyse the needs of the
    community to deliver high quality customer service, and information, lending
    and readers advisory services
  • Capacity to continuously evaluate resources,
    systems, processes and procedures maximising team productivity, and positively
    support staff during system changes
  • Expert skills in using digital, online
    technology
  • Expert information retrieval and research
    skills
  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Office
    Suite and the ability to become skilled with unfamiliar software and technology
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
