About Us

We are seeking a Customer Service & Resource Recovery operator to provide customer service to our community, based at the Maitland Resource Recovery Facility.
About the Role
Located at the Maitland Resource Recovery Facility, as a Customer Service & Resource Recovery Operator you will be responsible for front line customer engagement and support to the Maitland community and visitors who are utilising the facility.
The role is responsible for operation of the weighbridge and associated tasks involved with this work area, supervising activities in the recycling area including the Community Recycling Centre and providing advice on the correct disposal of waste items to increase resource recovery within the facility and reduce waste to landfill. There will also be occasions where the role will be responsible for traffic management within the facility.
Along with monitoring levels of recyclables, you will conduct accurate and timely reporting to the Site Supervisor to meet compliance requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience and knowledge with recycling and resource recovery operations. You will be committed to providing a high level of service to customers and your ability to work as part of a team, coupled with your demonstrated understanding of WH&S in the context of the waste management industry will help you succeed in this role.
A current C class driver's licence essential.
The following licences/tickets are not essential but would be highly regarded:
· Certificate III in Waste Management
· Traffic Controller ticket
· Forklift Ticket
· WHS General Construction Induction (White Card)
Benefits
This is a full-time, permanent position with a base salary of $61,288 to $68,029 per year ($31.01 - $34.42 per hour) based on demonstrated experience + allowances + penalty rates + 11.5% super.
Working hours for the position are 38 hours per week spread across a 7-day roster between 7:30am to 4:00pm working one in two weekends. Weekend penalty rates include time and a half on Saturdays and double time on Sundays resulting in additional salary between approximately $9,191 and $10,204 per year.
