Georges River Council have an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer to join their team. 

 

The Role 

Reporting to the Coordinator Engineering, the Design Engineer will be responsible for providing technical design support and services in the development of Council infrastructure including (but not limited to) traffic facilities, roads and stormwater projects, minor building and civil projects.

The position will also be responsible for assessing construction drawings that form part of property developments; undertaking the collection of levels and survey data; engaging and supervising consultants where required for external design works; as well as the processing and design of driveway applications.

 

What we can offer you

  • Contract Role, Full-Time (12 months) - 70 hours per fortnight
  • Salary from $94,961.99- $110,025.72 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation (dependant on the skills, qualifications and relevant experience of the suitable candidate)

Knowledge Skills and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in infrastructure design including design of road assets, traffic facilities, stormwater, and other civil works
  • A high level of computer literacy with sound working knowledge of design software packages such as AutoCAD and CivilCAD
  • Experience in the reviewing of plans submitted as part of Development Applications, Section68 applications, and Section 138 applications
  • Understanding of and commitment to WHS practices and EEO principles
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 

 

Desirable

  • Local Government experience
  • Experience and knowledge in surveying is also preferred but not essential
