About the role
Council is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Development Assessment Officer to join our Development Assessment Services team.
This role will see you be part of a dedicated team responsible for assessing development applications that support sustainable growth and preserve the unique character of Ku-ring-gai.
Reporting to the Team Leader Development Assessment, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Assess a diverse range of development applications in accordance with the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act
- Provide expert advice to applicants, consultants, and community members
- Prepare professional reports and recommendations for planning decisions
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning processes
Qualifications, Skills & experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Building Surveying or a related discipline
- Experience in assessing development applications within a local government or similar environment
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Commitment to delivering high-quality service to the community
