Are you ready to take on a key role in shaping our community's future? MidCoast Council is seeking dynamic individuals for a Development Engineering role within our team.
The role
As a key member of the development engineering team, you will play a crucial role in providing development engineering services, expertise, and advice for public infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring compliance with Council’s standards and specifications related to conditions of development consent.
- Providing development referrals to achieve Council’s development assessment response timelines.
- Offering strategic advice in relation to engineering considerations and future infrastructure needs.
- Conducting comprehensive engineering assessments of development applications.
- Representing Council at the Land and Environment Court.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of Council's engineering standards and processes.
What you'll bring
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in engineering or a related field.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes and maintaining professional standards.
- Experience in the coordination and delivery of civil projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in civil construction, specifically in relation to roads, bridges and drainage.
- Providing exceptional customer service to stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to organise, schedule and conduct engineering inspections with a high level of communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

Salary: An attractive salary package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
Closing date: Sunday, 5 January 2025 at 11:30pm.
