Development Officer Young People

  • Fixed Term Full-Time position 35 Hours per week. Parental Leave up to 12 months
  • Job based at Arncliffe Youth Centre with access to public transport

  • Salary $95,477.89 - $106,935.20

About the role

Reporting to the Coordinator Young People, the successful candidate will be support the Young People Team to ensure that young people feel safe and are connected, respected, healthy and well; with opportunities to thrive and have their voice heard in our community.

If you enjoy working in a team environment, are experienced in engaging with young people and have an excellent track record in planning and delivering strategies and collaborative programs for young people then this job is for you.

About you

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the legislative requirements, codes of practice and governance frameworks that relate to young people. They have strong research, analysis and reporting skills and a proven track record in developing strategies and collaborative programs that meet the needs and aspirations of young people

Local Government experience is desired but not essential. Some out of hours work is required from time to time to attend meetings.

You can also expect to;

  • Contribute to the development of strategies, polices, plans and procedures
  • Research, develop and facilitate services and programs to address the needs of Young People in the Bayside Local Government Area
  • Identify current and emerging young people needs, issues, gaps and/or changing service requirements
  • Undertaken mandatory reporting to adhere to relevant guidelines and responsibilities
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with key agencies, services and networks for young people
  • Support the implementation of initiatives

We are looking for someone who has;

  • Minimum diploma level qualification and/or equivalent experience
  • Current First Aid Certificate relevant to the role
  • Working with Children Check (NSW)
  • Approved Child Protection training
  • Current Driver’s Licence Class C
  • Working knowledge of legislative requirements, codes of practice and frameworks relevant to young people including Child Safe Standards, National Quality Framework and Child Protection.
