The role
Are you a vibrant professional with experience in delivering safe and high-quality customer experiences in the aquatics industry? You will help manage the day-to-day operations of the Birrong Leisure and Aquatic Centre and mentor a diverse team to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for our customers!
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Lead by example and support the Leisure and Aquatics unit leadership team to deliver a high-quality customer experience through safe, clean and well-presented centres.
- Supervise and train staff in line with industry guidelines and Council’s policies and procedures to ensure this framework is adhered to by all staff under your control.
- Confidently manage emergency situations when they arise, including performing rescues and first aid procedures.
- Monitor and maintain all filtration, reticulation, and chemical dosing equipment (on a periodic and day-to-day basis) to ensure ongoing operation and effective management of pool water quality.

You will have:
- TAFE NSW Pool Operations/RLSSA Technical Operations or equivalent.
- Royal Life Saving Pool Lifeguard Certificate (upon commencement of employment, all Duty Managers are expected to gain licence for each facility that they work at).
- Senior First Aid Certificate.
- Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Demonstrated knowledge of aquatic industry standards, especially regarding pool supervision, water quality and the safe handling and storage of chemicals.
- Willingness to work across a 7-day roster.
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $75,011 (Grade E, Step 1) + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
