What’s On Offer
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and skilled Environment Officer to join our Environment and Health Services team. Reporting to the Coordinator Environment and Waste, the successful candidate will promote the management, protection and improvement of bushland and wetland natural areas within the local community. You will develop, review and coordinate management plans and programs to promote preservation and enhancement of biodiversity and management of natural areas vested with the City of Kwinana.
The position works frequently in the field and communicates extensively with Environment Team members providing specialist advice and information relating to bushland and wetland natural areas.

What You'll Need
To make an impact as our new Environment Officer, you will need the following:
- Demonstrated experience in bushland and wetland natural area management including sound knowledge of local flora (including weeds) and fauna.
- Sound knowledge of ecological principles, best practice management and Environmental Planning Principles within Local Government.
- Proven ability to work constructively with others in a team environment.
- Well-developed communication and computer literacy skills.
- The ability to manage contractors, clients, community groups and the general public in an efficient, productive and professional manner.
- Well-developed personal management skills and the ability to effectively plan, organise and prioritise workloads.
- Possession of Driver’s Licence and Working with Children Check.
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Management/ Environmental Science.
