Environment & Regulatory Services (Ranger) Trainee
Camden Council in partnership with the NSW Government, is offering an Environment and Regulatory Services (Ranger) Trainee position as part of the 'Fresh Start for Local Government Apprentices, Trainees and Cadets Program.
SALARY: $803.30 - 1,194.60 pw + Super
*Please note that salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award*
Work Type: Temporary Full Time up to 2 years, commencing early 2025
Location: Oran Park Administration Building - 70 Central Avenue, Oran Park 2570

The Environment & Regulatory Services (Ranger) Traineeship within our Environment & Regulatory Services branch provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while completing a Certificate IV in Government Investigations - a fantastic way to kick-start a successful career!
In this community facing role, surrounded by a supportive team, you will develop skills and knowledge required to enforce Local Government Laws, promote community safety, companion animal management, and manage public spaces effectively, while delivering high quality customer service. Part of the role also includes investigating complaints regarding non-compliance issues across Camden Local Government area and educating the community to help resolve these matters.

Essential:
- Willingness to complete a Certificate IV in Government Investigations and any other relevant training and qualifications
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Good interpersonal skills, communication, and conflict resolution abilities
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
- Current driver's licence (Full, Provisional P1 or Provisional P2)
- Must be 18 years of age by mid-2025 or older
Desirable:
- Demonstrated experience with handling dogs and cats and a genuine interest in animal welfare
- Experience with handling livestock in a working environment
- Ability to drive a four-wheel drive vehicle
