Position Overview

The Events Technical Specialist at Kirrawee Library+ is tasked with designing, coordinating, and delivering engaging events and programs that utilise the library’s specialised spaces and technologies. This role is essential in fostering community participation and enhancing the library's visibility as a hub of activity.

In addition to event management, the specialist will provide training and support to library staff on various technologies, evaluate program success, and ensure alignment with the library's strategic objectives. Collaboration with the Library Community Engagement Team will be key in promoting library services and building sustainable partnerships.

Who We Are Looking For

We seek a passionate and innovative individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to enhancing community engagement through library programs.

  • A tertiary qualification in library/information science, information technology, graphic design, music production, community development, or education.
  • Experience in designing and delivering community-focused programs.
  • Proficiency with various technologies, including audio/sound equipment and makerspace tools.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong ability to connect with the local community.

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate well-developed organisational and time management skills, ensuring programs are executed efficiently and effectively. A valid Working With Children Check is required for this position.

  • Package: $91,120 - $96,591 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation. 
  • Hours of work: Full-time 35 hours per week, with the option of a 19 day month flexi-time arrangement. Applicants must be available to work a range of shifts across a 7 day spread, between the hours of 8:00am - 9:00pm to support the operational requirements of the libraries.
