About the Role
Working with the Finance and Payroll Supervisor, the role is responsible for providing support of finance functions that contributes to the effective delivery of the City of Palmerston Community Plan that include;
- Maintain the integrity of Council’s financial information specifically related to accounts payable and payroll with a view of continuous improvement.
- Provide accurate, detailed, and quality administration and accounts payable and payroll functions across council’s systems which complies with legislation.
- Ensure statutory obligations are compiled within a timely manner.
- Provide financial administrative assistance and training within the council and broader organisation.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements to ensure they receive the required assistance, support, and information.
- Maintain the integrity of personnel records ensuring accuracy of all data recorded and maintaining confidentiality.
- Manage quality customer service and exercise a high level of interpersonal/customer service skills in dealing with all stakeholders.
- General financial administrative, modelling and research tasks.
About You
You will ideally have appropriate qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other relevant discipline which may be required through a Cert III or relevant experience with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development, a minimum of one year experience in Accounts Payable and Payroll operations, an ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines within a dynamic environment and a customer centric focused results.
