The Opportunity
We are seeking individuals who have a passion for team work to become part of our Corporate Services Team as a Finance Officer. The Finance Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records to ensure the smooth operation of the Shire’s financial systems. The roles involve recording daily financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, preparing basic financial reports and other finance tasks with support. The responsibilities will include:
- Record financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments in an accurate and timely manner;
- Responding to enquiries from stakeholders;
- Accounts Receivable;
- Accounts Payable;
- End of Month Reports;
- Quarterly stocktake of inventory.
A certificate IV in Bookeeping or Accounting or relevant experience, current unrestricted WA Manual “C” Class Driver’s Licence are essential for this role.
You will also need highe level of accuracy and attention to details in financial entries and reporting, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools, strong problem-solving and analytical skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.

Salary and Benefits
Working for SWEK means that in addition to the competitive annual remuneration package between $94,000 to $98,000 (inclusive of allowances and superannuation, dependent on skills and experience) for full-time position, you may also enjoy a range of benefits including:
