About The Role
The Financial Accountant will play an integral role within the Financial Services business unit, focusing on various financial accounting functions including compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, asset accounting, treasury management, and taxation. This position involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and the effective management of Council’s financial assets.
The successful candidate will oversee the investment portfolio, manage loans and leases, and provide strategic advice in banking and treasury functions. This role requires strong analytical skills, an understanding of financial governance, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic working environment.
Who We Are Looking For

- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, or a related discipline.
- CPA or CA accreditation (or nearing completion).
- Proven experience in financial accounting, asset accounting, treasury management, and taxation.
- Experience with enterprise financial systems and engaging with external stakeholders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Advanced proficiency in financial systems and analytical software.

- Package: $96,668 - $102,469 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Permanent Full-Time 35 hours per week with the option of a 19-day month.
