Find purpose and impact

Join our fun and dynamic team at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre. We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Functions Officer to uphold the high standard of customer service and venue presentation that has been set. This exciting role involves preparing for, and overseeing client events including set up, set down, being duty person, cleaning and some minor maintenance when required. Also includes hospitality and basic office administration duties. Support in this role will be provided by the
Front of House Team Leader through on the job training.

The role is varied with events being held in the Convention Centre, Theatre and, on occasion, at Wellington Civic Centre. This is an exciting opportunity for someone embarking on a new career path, who has attention to detail, takes pride in their work and wants to be part of an energetic team who believe in continuous improvement in a professional facility.

You’ll make
an impact by:

  • Provide efficient and responsive customer service in person, over the phone and through email
  • Plan and provided support needed to meet the client's requirements
  • Ensure set up of the event is accurate and according to the client’s requirements
  • Ensure delegated duties and tasks allocated by Front
    of House Team Leader are undertaken and achieved
  • Ensure venues and external surrounds are well presented and maintained for events


What you'll bring

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent presentation, communication and customer service skills
  • Hospitality experience for diverse events in a professional setting including setting up and setting down
  • Demonstrated administration experience and attention to detail in a professional work environment
  • Basic experience in setting up equipment used for meetings and small events
  • Previous experience in bar operations
  • Experience with point of sales systems

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $57,826 - $67,203
