About the role
This is a permanent full time position working 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday) across a 9 day fortnight at our Bombaderry Works depot.

This position is responsible for supporting and supervising staff in day to day construction and maintenance operations of the Works and Services department. Our Works & Services team is divided in four districts that service the needs of 110,000 residents, covering an area of 4,500km squared and maintaintaining 1,800km of public roads.

Duties
Reporting directly to the Team Supervisor - Northern Construction, the focus of this position is to:

  • Supervise and direct up to 6 workers or contractors carrying out maintenance activities.
  • Ensure works are compliant with relevant legislation and Council policy to effectively manage risks.
  • Read, interpret and implement plans.
  • Operate and maintain large and small plant items and vehicles.
  • Undertake manual tasks such as concreting, digging, traffic control etc.
  • Complete standard paperwork including timesheets and MMS sheets.

Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will have:

  • School Certificate or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in civil construction and/or maintenance activities
  • MR Licence (dependent upon role specified) or willingness to obtain.
  • Minimum NSW RMS ‘Implement Traffic Control Plans'.
  • SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card (white card) or recognised interstate General Construction Induction Training card
