About the Opportunity

At Cessnock City Council we’re passionate about using technology to make a real difference in our local community. With the current housing development boom, we're looking for a talented GIS Analyst to join our small but dynamic team. This is a great opportunity to work on a large and diverse range of exciting projects and contribute to shaping the future of Council's mapping systems.

You’ll be working in a fast paced, collaborative environment, with plenty of opportunities to work with neighbouring councils and state agencies on larger projects. Plus, you’ll have a key role in helping shape our GIS strategy and making sure it meets the needs of the community.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Maintaining and updating our GIS data to make sure it’s accurate and current.
  • Developing GIS apps and web mapping tools to improve how we collect and use data, both for staff and the community.
